CHEYENNE – The Wyoming Council for Women’s Issues
(WCWI) will release the 2009 Wyoming Women’s Issues
Survey at a press conference at the Capitol building at 9:30
a.m. on Friday, Nov. 13.
Through the Wyoming Business Council, the Wyoming Council
for Women’s Issues (WCWI) contracted with the Wyoming
Survey & Analysis Center at the University of Wyoming
to interview a random, scientific sample of more than 800
women in the state and then compare results with the original
2004 survey.
The survey results include the top problems personally experienced
by Wyoming women and a ranking of issues facing women today
in Wyoming communities. The participants were also asked follow-up
questions regarding problems they personally experienced like
health care, child care, employment, elder care, substance
abuse, violence and education.

The WCWI works to improve the quality and equality of life
for Wyoming women. The WCWI is a 13-member council with representation
from each of the nine Judicial Districts in addition to four
at-large members and one ex-officio member from the Wyoming
Business Council. The WCWI members are appointed by the governor.
