| The Wyoming Council for Women’s Issues is a 13-member council with representation from each of the nine Judicial Districts in addition to four at large members and one ex-officio member for the Wyoming Business Council. The Governor through the Boards and Councils Application process appoints WCWI members. |

A Wyoming transplant and three-year
Cheyenne resident, Carma previously lived in Green River, Rock
Springs, and Kemmerer. At the age of 52, she graduated from the
University of Wyoming with a bachelor's degree in
communications and was Public Information Officer and adjunct
instructor at Western Wyoming Community College for nine
years. She is a 2007 graduate of Leadership Wyoming and a 2009
graduate of JustFaith.
Carma also serves on the Wyoming
Humanities Council, is President-Elect and Program Chair
for the Cheyenne Bishop's Guild, and teaches a Bible
study class for St. Mary's. She recently co-facilitated
the tri-parish JustFaith and Engaging Spirituality
programs.
The mother of four and grandmother of seven,
Carma spends considerable time embarrassing them in the
bleachers. She also loves to read, listen to music, and
golf and is obsessed with the Colorado Rockies. Carma is
married to John Corra, Director of the Wyoming
Department of Environmental Quality. She retired in 2007
after five years of weekend commuting to join him in
Cheyenne.

A Wyoming native raised in eastern
Laramie County, Pamela attended the University of Wyoming,
earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology with a minor in
finance and a master's degree in business administration. She is
Operations Director for CLIMB Wyoming, a non-profit organization
whose mission is to train and place low-income single mothers in
careers that successfully support their families. Pamela is a
passionate volunteer in the community, most recently serving as
Chair for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Wyoming Race for the Cure and as
Educational Chair for the Komen Board. She chairs WCWI's
Employment Practices Committee.

Sheridan
Maureen is also a Wyoming native and is fortunate to be surrounded by most of her extended family in Sheridan. She received a double bachelor's degree in criminal justice and social science from the University of Wyoming (a combination of political science and communication) and is working toward a master's degree in social work. She is a Flexible Learning Specialist for Sheridan College. Maureen and her husband are the parents of two children.

Jackson
Teresa grew up in a suburb of
Chicago. She earned a bachelor's degree in biology from
Grinnell College in Iowa and a master's degree in urban
planning and public policy from the University of Illinois
at Chicago. A homemaker and planning consultant, she
manages her own business: deGroh Consulting LLC.
Teresa volunteers as an Emergency
Medical Technician in the Jackson Hole Fire/EMS
Department and is on the Teton Emergency Responders
Association Board of Directors. She chairs WCWI's Legal
Rights and Responsibilities Committee and frequently
makes presentations about WCWI and Wyoming's gender wage
gap. She is married to a Wyoming native and has a
daughter.

Wendy works in the University of Wyoming's Gender and Women's Studies Program and considers herself a community activist. During the last 20 years, she has served on the Laramie City Council, as a Laramie Area Chamber of Commerce volunteer, and as a Governor's Child Care Certification Board member. She is now or has been involved with the Dead Dog Classic Bike Race Board, Naughty Pines Derby Dames, the Social Justice Research Center, Laramie Swim Club, and Laramie Bike Net.
Wendy's work history also includes coordinating a statewide program providing dental care to the disabled and elderly and managing a retirement facility. Recently appointed, Wendy is "very excited about this opportunity to serve on the WCWI" and looks "forward to the challenges of the next six years." |

Jan returns to the Council for a second term following a two-year break and is "eager to return." The Rock Springs native and University of Wyoming graduate is a Professor of Psychology at Western Wyoming Community College. She also serves on the Southwest Counseling Mental Health Board and the Wyoming State Board of Education. Jan has been married to Jerry Torres for 47 years.

Raised on a dairy farm in northern Colorado and a graduate of Colorado State University with a degree in soils, Laurel has lived in Gillette since 1980, working in the field of environmental science. She is a Senior Environmental Engineer for Alpha Coal West at the Belle Ayr Mine; she has collaborated with and is actively working on research projects and papers on the subject of mine land reclamation in Wyoming.
Laurel is a 2007 Leadership Wyoming graduate, an active participant in the Wyoming States Partnership with Tunisia, and a lifelong learner who enjoys diverse classes as well as hunting, gardening, quilting, cooking and woodworking. She is married to Brigadier General Olin Oedekoven, Assistant Adjutant General, Army, Wyoming National Guard, and President of the Peregrine Leadership Institute.

Suzey is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, the Nursing Coordinator for Natrona County School District No. 1, and the Wyoming Director for the National School Nurses Association. She graduated from the University of Wyoming as a registered nurse in 1975 and received her master's degree in nursing in 1983. She is a 2006 Leadership Wyoming graduate who credits that experience and her group project for sparking her interest in the topic of gender wage disparity.
Suzey is WCWI's Education Committee Chair. She has presented at numerous national conferences for school nurses, recently gave a presentation in Frankfurt, Germany, and has been invited to Paris, France next year.
Married with two grown daughters,
Suzey also takes pride in her dogs: two Scotties, one
Westie, and one Weenie!

Sherrill recently retired as an elementary special education teacher and re-upped for a second WCWI term as Home and Community Chair. She earned her bachelor's degree in special education from Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Mont., with graduate work at the University of Wyoming. She is the Goshen County Democratic Central Committee Treasurer and is married with three children.

A fourth generation Star Valley native now residing in Laramie, Suzan is an attorney and the Public Policy Director for the Wyoming Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. She earned her undergraduate degree in English and secondary education from Utah State University and her law degree from the University of Wyoming. She was previously Executive Director of the Wyoming Association of Risk Management and a partner in the law firm of Schaefer and Pauling, PC.
A 2010 graduate of Leadership Wyoming, Suzan was also a member of the first Leadership Laramie class. She is an Equality State Policy Center Board member, and her history of service includes Laramie Area Chamber of Commerce committee work, SAFE Project Board President, Laramie Hockey Association Secretary, PTO President, and various church callings. Freshly appointed to WCWI, Suzan looks forward to serving on the Legal Rights and Responsibilities Committee. She is the proud mother of three equally proud Wyoming residents.

Riverton
A Central Wyoming College employee in Riverton, Donna presents Job Search Workshops, facilitates at National Secondary Transition Team planning meetings, does commercial painting, travels, and keeps up with her "eight wonderful grandchildren." This year, she began a three-year term on the Fremont County Planning Commission and, after several years, has returned to WCWI for a second term.
A Wyoming native, Donna grew up in Albany County where her family was involved in livestock marketing and ranching. She is a University of Wyoming graduate who raised her three children on an eastern Wyoming ranch, was the broker-owner of a real estate business in Niobrara County, and was elected to the Niobrara County School Board.
Donna's State of Wyoming employment history includes working for the Department of Employment in Cheyenne, the Department of Workforce Services in Riverton, and the Department of Education as a Special Education Program Consultant. She retired in 2009.
A 1992 Leadership Cheyenne graduate, Donna is a past president and past Region III director for Soroptimist International of Riverton. She recently served on the State Rehabilitation Council, WINDS Advisory Board, and Ellbogen Foundation Leadership and Advocacy Group.

Except for five years in Rock Springs and three in Omaha, Linda is a lifelong Cheyenne resident. She has studied at Laramie County Community College, Bellevue Junior College in Washington, and the University of Wyoming, with an emphasis in public administration.
A State of Wyoming employee for more than 30 years who retired in 2009, Linda worked for the Governor's Office of Highway Safety, the Attorney General, Game and Fish, Governor's Office, and State Parks and Cultural Resources, traveling extensively throughout Wyoming. Until September, she is employed by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Census Bureau, completing the 2010 Census count.
In addition to her recent appointment to WCWI, Linda's organizational involvement includes Cheyenne Frontier Days, Cowgirls of the West, Wyoming Women's Foundation, and many wildlife organizations. "I love reading about Wyoming history and want to see Wyoming continue to be a place where people can live, work, prosper, and at all times, respect each other for who they are," she says. Her husband Robert is a retired school teacher.
